Die vorliegende Studie schl�gt ein Analysemodell f�r l�ndliche Energienutzungspfade (RESPs) vor, das die Planung von Bioenergienutzung unterst�tzt und handhabbarer macht. Hierzu werden sowohl die Energie- und Kosteneffizienz von Energienutzungspfaden f�r Kochen, Beleuchtung und Antriebskraft verglichen als auch eine Vorabsch�tzung m�glicher Auswirkungen auf die l�ndlichen Lebensgrundlagen durchgef�hrt. Das Modell wurde in einer Fallstudie auf der indonesischen Insel Sumbawa angewendet, auf der der �ltragende Wildstrauch Jatropha Curcas L. f�r Energiedienstleistungen genutzt wird. Die Ergebnisse unterscheiden sich stark f�r die untersuchten Nutzungspfade: Als Brennstoff zum Kochen, k�nnen Pflanzen�l oder Biogas bez�glich der Energie- und Kosteneffizienz nicht mit Feuerholz konkurrieren, w�hrend die negativen Gesundheitsauswirkungen durch Feinstaub f�r fl�ssige oder gasf�rmige Brennstoffe sprechen, solange keine Holz�fen mit niedrigen Emissionswerten verf�gbar sind. Der Nutzung von Planzen�l und Biogas zum Beleuchten widersprechen sowohl die Ergebnisse der quantitativen als auch die der qualitativen Analyse. Das h�chste Potential liegt im Bereich der Antriebskraft, wenn es gelingt, die Kapital-, Energie-, Arbeits- und Transportintensit�ten zu optimieren und die institutionellen Herausforderungen zu bew�ltigen. In der Fallstudie zeigt eine dorfbasierte Erzeugung von Pflanzen�l und Biogas und die simultane Nutzung in einem Zweistoffmotor f�r die lokale Bereitstellung von Antriebskraft und Elektrizit�t das gr��te Potential. In jedem Fall bleibt die zentrale Frage, in wieweit ein l�ndlicher Energienutzungspfad mit lokalen Alternativen konkurrieren kann und gleichzeitig ausreichend profitabel ist, den beteiligten Bauern ein angemessenes Einkommen f�r ihren Arbeitsaufwand zu bieten.
